“Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.”

Song of Solomon 1:2

Intimacy is being close to someone dear to your heart. You don’t have intimacy with someone you are not close with, and you only kiss someone you are intimate with. Intimacy with God refers to a personal and deep connection with the Divine. You enter into a relationship with God by being born again. Intimacy is not a gift; intimacy is a reward. When you become born again, you have an official invitation to a fellowship with the Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit).

Here are some of the things required to build intimacy with the Lord:

1. Separation: There is no intimacy without separation. Jesus separated from His usual environment where people were present; He withdrew. To build intimacy with God, you need to separate yourself to be with him.

2. Time : You need time to develop intimacy. There is no hurry when developing intimacy. You don’t rush in and out of the place of intimacy.

3. Sacrifice:  Intimacy involves paying a price. It is not cheap to attain. A walk with God is the most expensive and fortunate  experience a human can have.

Charge: Intimacy is costly, are you willing to pay the price?
