“Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.”
Revelation 2:20
Currently, every believer is exposed to several teachings especially from various social media platforms. Also, it’s almost a norm in most churches to invite guest ministers within and across the globe. Beloved, these two cited instances are not termed to be wrong, but the effect of practising an act as against the leading of the Holy Spirit should be discouraged.
Presently, we have quite a number of true ministers preaching the gospel as well as false teachers. Hence, it is important to be highly spiritually sensitive as believers. The scriptures tell us how to easily discern between the false and true teachers, “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them” Matthew 7:20.
We can identify these false teachers by asking ourselves sincere questions after experiencing their teachings and practices. Questions like: do they bear fruits unto repentance or seduction? Do they glorify themselves or ascribe the glory to God? Are they preachers of the truth (Jesus) or lies (Devil)? Do they preach the kingdom of God or speak against it? May the Lord fill us with the spirit of discernment in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Charge: Beware of false prophets; their manipulations can make you fall or even refuse the true power of God.
