“And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”
Revelation 21:23
Let’s imagine a city without the sun, moon, or electricity. Your imagination is right; there will be total darkness! However, in the city our passage describes, even though all the mentioned elements are absent, it still doesn’t go dark. Darkness simply has no place in it. Glory!
Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us. This place is beyond our imagination and comprehension. The place is not run by human principles, and darkness (evil) has no place in it.
Even with sin, the moon, stars, and even electricity, darkness still looms on the earth. Despite the rules and regulations put in place by the government, evil still happens. But in this city, there’s no evil, and neither is there darkness. The question now is, “How can you be a partaker of this great city?”
It’s simple: all you have to do is believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, and that God raised Him from death. Then go ahead to confess with your mouth that Jesus is your Savior.
Charge: Let the light of God into your heart today.
