“Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: Therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: He woundeth, and his hands make whole.”

Job 5:17-18

One of the most difficult things to accept is correction. Most times, we feel bad and sad when we are being corrected especially if it’s done by someone we so much respect.

No man is ready-made. During the process of growth and development, there will be lots of corrections. Some may come hard. This also applies to our spiritual life. God is our Father; He has good plans for us and He wants the best for us, that’s why He corrects us when we err, just the way our earthly parents do or we do to our children.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

The above passage shows the true intention of God towards us. A father that wants the best for his child will correct the child when he goes wrong. This is to put the child in the right path.

This applies to us, when God corrects us it’s because He loves us and wants the best for us. Therefore let’s accept such correction with joy.

Thought for the day: God wants the best for me, and I must give Him the best of me.

Stay faithful.
