“Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.” Daniel 4:37
Today’s scripture serves as a reminder of the greatness and sovereignty of God. In today’s verse, Nebuchadnezzar acknowledges the greatness of God and his own fallibility. He praises God as the King of heaven, whose works are truth and whose ways are just. He also recognizes that those who walk in pride will be humbled by God.
This verse serves as a reminder to all of us that, God is sovereign and in control, and we should approach him with reverence and humility. It also reminds us that pride can lead us down a dangerous path, and so we should strive to be humble in all that we do.
According to the scripture, “Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.” John 5:19. As a disciple of Jesus Christ, we should emulate his lifestyle of humility at all times. May the Lord teach us to be humble disciples, in Jesus’ name Amen.
