“Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.”
Matthew 26:35
A prime example of the fact that God tests our words is Abraham. Think about it. He didn’t tell Abraham to stop when He took Isaac on the journey, or when he tied his son down. It was until he raised the knife, and was going to take the action that God had to stop him.
Do you know why? It is because, even with the best intents in our hearts, usually when the push comes to shove, our reactions are what show how ready we are.
Reactions are not always planned, so you might be unpredictable even to yourself. But they show how much the things we say to God has become part of our lives.
This does not necessarily have anything to do with intent. Do you think Peter intended to deny Jesus? Instead, it is about what has become part and parcel of us.
The next time you say, “I will never deny Jesus”, take note of that word – go to the HolySpirit and pray, “Make me a man/woman who will never deny Jesus. Please, help me” – because your words will be tested. And the test is God’s way of revealing to you, who and where you are.

Thought For The Day: Check your reactions. The words you say are already being tested.
Stay blessed.
