“For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Esther 4:14
The story of Mordecai and Esther holds profound importance for our lives.
When Haman threatened the destruction of the Jews, they seemed helpless. God, however, had a plan, making Esther queen to save her people. Yet, Mordecai understood that if Esther didn’t act, God would still find another way. God positions us for the greater good, urging us to understand our roles in fulfilling His plan.
Often, conceit clouds our minds, making us believe our wealth, power, or status is earned. God grants opportunities with a purpose—our duty is to recognise it and use our resources for His glory.
Mordecai’s question to Esther resonates, “Who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” Every action has a purpose, and we must grasp it. Opportunities may surprise us, yet we must recognise and employ them for God’s glory.
Relying on the Holy Spirit is crucial in discovering our purpose. He reveals the deep things of God, guiding us to fulfill His purpose.
