DO NOT SUGARCOAT THE GOSPEL

“And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.”  Ezekiel 3:4

Today’s topic reminds us, as followers of Christ, not to sugarcoat our witness of the Gospel but to speak only the truth.

Sugarcoating the gospel is elevating our authority above God’s, favouring our truth over His, which ultimately diminishes God’s perfect standard to our imperfect one. The Bible acknowledges that there is no truth in us except through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ never sugar-coated the truth. While He came for all, not everyone could accept the unvarnished truth He spoke. This is why He had many enemies, even among the religious leaders. Therefore, as believers, we should avoid preachers who distort the gospel and manipulate it to fit their message and falsehood. It’s crucial for those guilty of preaching false gospel to repent and embrace the true GOSPEL of Christ.

Now is the time to boldly stand for the truth, without compromise or sugarcoating. This act could impact our eternal destiny and invoke the Lord’s wrath upon us. Remember, “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you” (Deuteronomy 4:2).

Prayer

Lord, help me consistently speak the truth in love to others. Keep me from being a false preacher or one who hides Your truth. Help me, that your word will be a lamp to my feet, and a light to my paths, leading me and others to the truth in You. I thank You for answered prayers. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
