Loving God is most evident through our obedience to His commandments. Love for God extends beyond mere verbal expressions; it is demonstrated through our actions, adhering to His instructions.
Today’s devotional centers on one of God’s commandments, prompting us to reflect on whether we embrace it by loving others as He has directed.
Genuine love for God compels us to willingly sacrifice for the sake of loving even those individuals who challenge our capacity to do so. Loving them becomes a necessity if our love for God is authentic.
1 John 3:16 states, “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren”. Despite our sins, Jesus offered his life as a sacrifice for us. Likewise, if we genuinely love others as Jesus loves us, we should be prepared to relinquish anything for our fellow believers today.
Take a moment to evaluate yourself with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Examine if you genuinely love others in the same way that Jesus loves us all. If not, consider praying this prayer:
