THE BEAUTY OF KNOWING CHRIST

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
Corinthians 1:18

There are so many things the blood of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary gave us access to. One of them is the power to see — to see the realms of glory in God and to behold the beauty of fellowship with Christ.

This is a privilege we have as Christians. So, if you’ve ever wondered why it seems like it’s only you who can see how beautiful Jesus is, this is the reason. Spiritual things can only be spiritually discerned, so it is completely impossible for one who has not given entrance to Christ to understand what you mean by a life void of guilt or condemnation. It is hard for them to understand why you would die at Jesus’ feet, or why you are so grateful to Him whether for tangible or intangible gifts. They do not understand the fullness of joy you experience at beholding the Father’s face.

Do not expect them to. A proper knowledge of this fact teaches us why we need the Holy Spirit in preaching the gospel. All the talk in the world of your experiences alone does not make sense to the man whose eyes cannot see. The Holy Spirit must do His work. Another thing this teaches us is that we should not be too surprised and discouraged when people of the world look at us as though we are foolish. That’s what is expected to happen since they cannot see what you see or have.

You have something beautiful in Christ, dear Christian. Let that awareness always remain with you, and don’t hesitate to share it with others.

Prayer

Thank you for opening my eyes to the truth, Lord. I pray for the Grace to continue on this path of truth, and the grace not to be blinded by what this world has to offer. Father, I pray for the ones who do not see, yet. Open their eyes to see, Lord. Help them come to you. Amen in Jesus’ name.
