“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”
James 1:2-4
There are times challenges, pressure, uncertainty, pain, depression, sorrow, and sickness may arise and fill our souls. There are times when uncontrollable trouble affects us, and we might even think there is no way out or no solution whatsoever.
But the Word of the Lord says we should see these moments as an opportunity for great joy, as they are tests of our faith. After our faith has been tested, our endurance will grow, leading us towards perfection, needing nothing.
I understand that it may be hard to comprehend how joy can abound in times of trouble, pain, and sorrow. However, when we have an assurance that our God can do all things well, it becomes an anchor for our Joy.
By shifting our focus from worrying about the problems to seeing God in them, victory will fill our hearts, and joy will grow within us. Having the consciousness of who our Father is and what He is capable of doing will forever fill our souls with joy.
Therefore, regardless of the trials we might be going through or the troubles that fill our hearts, we should remember that God is in the center of the picture, and sooner or later, it will come to an end.
Troubles are not a permanent factor in our lives. Thus, we need not worry about them, but instead, believe wholly in God, and greatness will be evident in us.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, You’re the God of all and the Father to the fatherless. I know Your thoughts are good towards me. I pray that every trouble and sorrow affecting me today is settled in You, and You will put an end to it. I pray for the grace to endure it all and have great joy at the end. Amen.
