THE POTTER AND THE CLAY

But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand.”

 Isaiah 64:8

Are you worried that leaving all to follow Jesus will leave you uncool and not in vogue? Are there some things you are just too scared to give up because they are all you have known and you’re not sure what else is there apart from it?

Allow me to tell you about our Father God, the amazing Potter. One of the many things God is extremely good at is moulding things into shape. So that when He is done, a beauty that you never imagined comes out and leaves you fascinated and speechless.

God works in such a way that when He is done, you effortlessly agree with all your heart that you have been blessed with the best of gifts. As a matter of fact, He does it in a way that leaves you wondering what you did to deserve it. He is that perfect.

Is this then the God you’re afraid to leave everything else for? Is this the God you keep refusing to surrender completely to? Is this the God that you’re afraid of losing yourself to for the fear of not been seen as woke or cool?

Become Clay, dear Christian and let the Potter mould you as He wills. Let Him breathe on you and make you beautiful. Let Him do His perfect work. Don’t strive with Him anymore. The work He is doing on you will have you jubilating at the end. So, allow Him. God bless you.

Prayer

Lord, I give me all up. Forgive me for being arrogant and unsubmissive all along. I know you make beauty out of ashes and clay, please make beautiful things out of my life again. Thank you because I know without doubt that you will crown me with glory in Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
