There are many things that we want to achieve on this earth. There’s the call to leave a legacy, the desire to achieve something tangible, etcetera.
While these are valid goals and thoughts, it is important we remember that our real mandate here on earth is to live for God. Not for ourselves, not for our family, not even for other people. We exist to declare the works of God and to show forth His glory.
So, dear Christian, begin to check your life to see what you are currently living for. Does God matter so much that it is what concerns Him that comes first, or are you so in love with achievement that it comes first?
Check it well. You might even think you’re doing something for God, but deep down, it’s for your own fame. May God help us in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Prayer
Lord, help me to surrender my life totally to be used for your glory. Take away every selfishness in me that wants to live only for myself. Help me to know when I’m derailing from will for my life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
