“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”
The Holy Spirit is the most precious gift bestowed upon mankind. He is our enabler and comforter, through whom grace is dispensed and can be utilised.
Gentle, sweet, and beautiful, the Holy Spirit is also the spirit that quickens us for war and unbridled obedience. He works in our hearts, so we begin to will and do the Father’s will.
The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus to us and beautifies us, so we begin to resemble Him. His unimaginable power makes His gentleness all the more humbling. His presence is mind-blowing, and His oil of Grace is the singular thing that keeps a person holy before God.
It is a pity that we do not see expressions of the Holy Spirit’s essence in every believer, despite Him living inside every believer. Is it possible for a person to carry a nation’s worth of gold within themselves and yet remain poor because they do not know what they have?
It is possible, and this is precisely what happens when we refuse to engage the Holy Spirit. We think we are wiser than the wisdom that existed before time, and repeatedly fail to yield, listen to His voice, or submit to His free reign.
Dear Christian, the real treasure you have are not the gifts that were placed in you by God: the ability to sing, the capacity to make wealth, and the talent to communicate. Those aren’t the real gift. The greatest treasure you have is the Holy Ghost. Stop ignoring Him. Put those gifts in His hands, put your life and heart in His hands. Engage Him. Have communion with Him. Talk to Him.
Don’t miss out on the greatest gift you have. Please.
Precious Holy Spirit, Can I meet you? I want to truly know you. Show me the way to love and honour you. Help me to commit my talents and all I have in your hands. Direct my path. I can’t do it alone anymore. Please, show mercy as I return to you. Amen.
