“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28
God is good; this is an indisputable fact. Moreover, it is a truth that will serve you if you hold it close to your heart through all seasons of your life—God is good. Do you know what that means? It means that our Father desires only good things for you (these good things could mean indescribable beautiful wonders that leave you in shock and with a joy that cannot be contained). It also means that everything you surrender to God, He works it out to the most golden and beautiful stories. It means that even in the seemingly bad seasons, Baba does not leave you alone. He is right there, working for your good.
It means He looks at you and desires the best for you. It means He plans to lead you into the most beautiful places with joy, love, and peace—every good thing. Knowing that God is good makes you expectant. It makes you anticipate what He has in store for you. It makes your heart jitter as you open the gifts He places before you because you know He will go over and beyond in His doings. It also makes you trust God more because the enemy continues to fight as long as we are on this earth, but the knowledge of God’s goodness helps you know that your Father will not leave you alone for one second and that which the enemy meant for evil, He will take it and turn it for your good.
It makes you surrender because no matter the wreck you might have made of your life in the times you did not know better, no matter how far you might have gone, our God takes your broken pieces and moulds them into the most beautiful art. It makes you be at peace because sometimes His goodness displays itself as the hand that takes away what you perceive as good at the moment so that He might lead you to His definition of good.
This is our God. He is good, and His goodness is overwhelming, so rest in it. “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him” Ps. 34:8.
