“Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Lord; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. And the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.

1 Samuel 3:9-10

There is a posture that precedes divine clarity, and it is found in the heart of a young boy in 1 Samuel 3:9-10—“Speak, Lord; for thy servant heareth.” Samuel did not begin with recognition; he began with readiness. He did not yet discern the voice, but he positioned himself to respond to it. This is the secret of hearing God early: not perfect understanding, but yielded attention.

Many miss God not because He is silent, but because they are not inclined to listen. The voice of God often comes in moments that seem ordinary, but it requires a heart that has already decided, “When He speaks, I will answer.”

Hearing God early is not merely about age; it is about alignment. Samuel was young, yet available. In a time when the Word of the Lord was rare, he cultivated a posture that made him a vessel for divine communication. There is a discipline in learning to quiet every competing voice—fear, noise, distraction—so that the whisper of God is not lost in the chaos.

Charge: What you respond to consistently becomes what you recognise easily. Do not wait for crisis before you learn His voice. Build the habit of response now. Create space where God is not an afterthought but the first voice you attend to.

Happy Sunday, Beloved.
