“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live”

John 11:25

Death is the great equaliser, yet Jesus speaks with authority that defies it. In John 11:25, He declares, “I am the resurrection, and the life…”—a statement that is at once comforting and revolutionary. To Martha, standing in the shadow of her brother Lazarus’ tomb, these words were a revelation that life does not end at death, and the grave does not have the final word.

Jesus identifies Himself as the source and sustainer of all life—physical, spiritual, and eternal. To believe in Him is to align with a power that overcomes the ultimate adversary, giving hope beyond what the eye can see. Belief in Him awakens what was dead, restores what was lost, and promises a resurrection that extends far beyond the temporary confines of this world.

To embrace Jesus as our life and resurrection is to live without ultimate fear of death or despair. It is to understand that life, in its fullest sense, is found not in circumstances or fleeting success, but in relationship with Him. When we trust Him, we carry a hope that death cannot erase—a promise that the story does not conclude with finality, but with eternity.

Charge: In Christ, every ending becomes a doorway to new life, every loss a stage for resurrection, and every heartache a reminder that He is indeed the life that death cannot hold.
