“Now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways.”
Haggai 1:5
To “consider your ways” means to examine your motives, actions, and direction in light of God’s Word. Are you walking in obedience or chasing self-interest? Are your plans submitted to His will, or are you asking Him to bless what He never approved?
Life is full of movement: plans, goals, and pursuits, but not every path we walk leads us closer to God’s purpose. The Lord, through the prophet Haggai, called His people to pause and reflect. They had become busy building their own houses while neglecting the house of God. Their priorities were misplaced, and their efforts yielded little fruit.
God’s question still echoes today: “Consider your ways.” It is a gentle yet sobering reminder that success in life is not merely about activity but alignment—alignment with His will. Many run tirelessly after dreams, wealth, or recognition, yet find emptiness within. True fulfilment comes when our ways agree with His ways.
Charge: Is your way right with God? If not, it’s not too late to realign. His grace is waiting to set your feet on the path of righteousness.
