“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.”

Philippians 2:3

If there is anything to be learned from the lifestyle of Jesus, it is His ability to maintain a low profile despite having an unmatchable record amongst men. Shall we talk about His feeding in the house of tax collectors – the probable greatest sinners of their time – despite being a holy one? Or the untraceable disparity between Him and His disciples when they dine, talk, and walk even when He knows He is their leader?

It is good to be recognised and acknowledged for achieving success at designated tasks, fields, and specialty, but God becomes proud of us when we return the glory to Him – who alone deserves it. To be lowly is not to write off oneself as one without values to offer, but rather to submit in all truth and honesty – whatever has been acquired by rights and privileges – to the one who makes things happen.

The end goal of every dreams and vision must be that Christ be glorified, but never to prove a point of self-sufficiency to any man. No matter how far you’ve come in the journey of life (the acquisition of wealth and wisdom), comparison should never be an option to consider, for out of it comes disdain.

Charge: Serve others with your gift, talent, time, and money. Condone people in love and never let life’s situation suggests to you to be better than you truly are.
