“You will become pregnant and have a son whose head is never to be touched by a razor because the boy is to be a Nazirite, dedicated to God from the womb. He will take the lead in delivering Israel from the hands of the Philistines.”
Judges 13:5
If you study the above passage clearly, you will observe that the child who was to come at that time had a mission to fulfil. The latter part of that verse speaks of the purpose of this child—to take the lead in delivering Israel from the hands of the Philistines. God already has plans for every one of His children.
As a child of God, know that you are not here on earth for yourself. There are destinies connected to yours. Hence, the reason you have to live and lead a good life. Whatever you go through is most likely for your learning and others’ growth. While you go through things to gather wisdom and experience for yourself, those things you’ve picked will be useful for God to train His children. Therefore, we have no choice but to live a life worthy of emulation.
In any phase of your life, you must go into with the Holy Spirit so that you don’t fail God and those destinies connected to yours. The above scripture shows that an unborn child has been predestined to lead in delivering his people. The book of Judges 13-16 shows how Samson almost missed his destiny fulfilment. The prophecy didn’t say he would perish with his enemies, but along the line, he missed some steps in his journey, which cost him a lot.
In Matthew 1:21, the prophecy of years ago was fulfilled as Mary became the useful vessel to carry the Saviour of the world. “She will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Here again, we see that Jesus has the destiny to save His people from their sins. If Jesus had failed in fulfilling the purpose of His coming to the world, we wouldn’t be here today. If the devil’s temptations had swayed Jesus, we wouldn’t be reading this message today.
Look at what happened in the garden of Eden. Because of the forbidden fruit that Adam and Eve ate, sin and suffering were brought into the world, which changed the agenda of God to always fellowship with man in the cool of the day. It would have been a pleasant thing to have our Father come down in the splendour of His glory to fellowship with us here on earth. But man failed, and that opportunity was terminated.
“Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” John 6:9. The scripture above reminds us of how Jesus fed 5000 men with five loaves and two small fish. If that boy had refused to give out his food, we probably wouldn’t have been told of this story. Or God would have paved another way, but that boy would have felt irrelevant since there’s always a feeling of joy when God is using us to solve problems.
If Noah had ignored God because the instructions seemed foolish and unrealistic, and he joined the rest in their worldly ways, he most likely would have been destroyed (Heb. 11:7).
Finally, Brethren, “Even before the world was made, God had already chosen us to be His through our union with Christ, so that we would be holy and without fault before Him. Because of his love.” Ephesians 1:4. God is expecting us to win the race before us. It is when we win that those connected to us can win. However, if we choose not to win, there’s always room for replacement. So may we not be replaced in Jesus’ name.
Prayer
1. Ask God for mercy. Tell Him to forgive you for being nonchalant about the work He has trusted you with.
2. Ask for grace to start working to fulfil your purpose.
3. Tell the Lord to bestow the wisdom to carry out the mandate He has given you.
4. Pray that every destiny connected to yours will not fail on your account. That no one will die because of you.
