“And he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and break, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people.”

Mark 8:6

In the scripture above, God revealed one of the secrets of abundance to us. If you study the lifestyle of Jesus, you will realise that before He broke bread or ate with the people, He would give thanks to God. In feeding the five thousand people with just five loaves and two fish, gratitude played a significant role in multiplication. “Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks…” John 6:11a.

If you want to receive more from God, you must learn to appreciate God for whatever He’s done. Of course, Jesus could have gotten whatever He wanted even if He didn’t pray, but He did all that to teach everyone the significance of gratitude.

Giving thanks to God, irrespective of the situation, brings God’s blessings to us. Jesus understood this principle which was why He never failed to give thanks to the Father while He was on earth. 1Thess. 5:18, “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”. Rather than grumble or sulk when things aren’t going in the way you envisage, give thanks.

The reason some people don’t have enough is that they have failed to appreciate God. They have never thanked God for whatever He’s done for them. You cannot receive any more blessings from God if you cannot appreciate Him.

Finally Beloved, “…whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Col. 3:17.
