“And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.”
John 17:11
Imagine your phone for a moment. Each part: the screen, battery, SIM card, processor, and charging port, has a unique function, but none can operate effectively without the others. If these parts began to compete, the result would be chaos and a useless device.
This mirrors the body of Christ, where many members — pastors, teachers, evangelists, and helpers — belong to one body under one Lord. Like a phone’s parts needing harmony, the Church requires unity to fulfil its purpose.
Unity is central to Jesus’ prayer for His followers, as He desired that they “may be one.” We are not competing entities but parts of one spiritual body, joined by one Spirit and serving one Lord. Our strength comes from Christ, and while our roles may differ, we work together to glorify Him. Therefore, let us value every member of the body, work in love, and stay connected to our divine Source. For only then can the world truly experience the fullness of God’s power through His united body.
Charge: Just as each phone part draws power from one battery, every believer draws strength from one Lord — Christ Jesus. We may have different functions, but our source is the same.
