“And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.”
Esther 7:6
Sometimes, the attack from the enemies will not come by visible weapons; instead, it will come by smiles. In Queen Esther’s time, Haman moved freely in the king’s palace, wielding influence, power, and deception. To the unsuspecting eye, he looked loyal, but behind his ambition was a plot to destroy God’s people.
It reminds me of a man who once shared how a “friend” at work nearly sabotaged his promotion out of jealousy. For months, he couldn’t see it, but prayer opened his eyes. Like Esther, he learned that discernment is the believer’s defence against hidden adversaries.
We often picture the devil as loud and obvious, yet he works subtly through envy, pride, bitterness, and false counsel. This is why we must stay spiritually alert. Esther did not confront Haman in haste; she sought God in fasting and wisdom first. Her victory was not in shouting, but in a strategy inspired by the Spirit.
Charge: When you face unseen opposition, remember: God reveals what the enemy hides.
