“Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.”
Isaiah 6:6-7
When Isaiah encountered the glory of the Lord in the temple, his first response was not excitement but brokenness. Standing before our holy God made him acutely aware of his unworthiness. Isaiah’s encounter teaches us that before God can use us effectively, He must first purge us.
Purging is the painful but necessary process of removing sin, pride, and impurities that hinder our walk with Him. Like Isaiah, we may feel unworthy, but God does not call the perfect; He perfects the called.
Beloved, you cannot serve God while clinging to unconfessed sin, hidden bitterness, or self-righteousness. The vessel must be cleansed before it can be filled. Surrender yourself to God’s refining fire, and He will purify your lips, your heart, and your hands for His service.
Charge: Only when you fully surrender will God be able to use you for His good works.
