“He that overcometh shall inherit these things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.”

Revelation 21:7

I was privy to a discussion by my non-believing friends many years ago. They talked about God’s honorary rewarding system to cover up for past good deeds, even though a fellow might have ended up backslidden before he/she’s caught up with death. All I did was sigh because there’s no such thing as grace covering up for a man’s inability to stay through till the end.

There are many tribulations and afflictions set before a believer, but God’s promise remains that He shall deliver him from them all. The Scripture explains in the book of Ecclesiastes 7:2 that: “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof; and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.”
God’s faithfulness only covers up for the faithful; the unshaken shall be duly honoured by God when the time is right.

The Scripture also says in Luke 9:62 that “No man who put his hand in the plough, and looking back is fit for the kingdom of God.” The end is what matters more to God, and that is why He said in His word ‘Now is our salvation nearer than we first believed.” Believers must uphold their faith to the end, if they’d be recognised by God at the end of the journey. That is why we can’t afford to toil with our life like others would.

Charge: It is better to overcome our flesh now than to be overcome by pleasure later.
