“Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.”

Daniel 4:37

God will never despise a contrite heart and broken spirit because it reveals the character of humility and total dependence on the Almighty.

Most times we seek the face of God about numerous desires and He in turn sifts them to align according to His will, way and plan for our lives. In the process of alignment, our heart is tested, renewed and transformed to conform appropriately before we move into all that we desire.

In the process of conforming, we learn the ways of Christ which are needed to sustain us when we are promoted to the next level of grace. We are encouraged through the verse of today to learn from Nebuchadnezzar who had attributed his greatness to himself, rather than to God, and he was humbled for it. He finally acknowledged God, as the true ruler over mankind, who sets whomever he wishes over it.

Charge: Come before the Lord and ask Him to purge you of every form of pride, and self-conceit.
