“And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.”

Jeremiah 15:4.

On Father’s Day, after sending compliments and wishes, she said something profound: “I hope you become a better father. I always encourage the men around me to be the best dads to their children and the best husbands to their wives.”

Upon further inquiry, it became clear that she was the daughter of an absent father. This realisation broke her heart, leading her to express, “Men don’t understand that their actions today can affect their children tomorrow.” This message carries weight for any wise person. Our decisions, actions, and inactions extend beyond just ourselves and may have lasting impacts on others. They are like seeds that trail down bloodlines—to hurt or to bless.

Jerusalem was overtaken because of the carelessness of Manasseh. He made others suffer for the offence he started. In the chronicles of life, as it is in the book of Kings, what will be said of you at the end of your journey? “He did wickedly before God, or He walked with God and slept with his fathers?
