“Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, Even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, Neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.”

Psalm 91:9-10

Oftentimes, we worry excessively, especially after hearing distressing news that leaves us shaken and fearful. For instance, someone already anxious about how to earn their daily income might become more alarmed upon hearing the news about individuals being harmed or ambushed while trying to earn a living.

However, the same road that brings harm to some people may be the path of safety for others. While pestilence and diseases may continue to plague nations and homes, God’s children have the promise of divine protection on every side.

To make the Lord your habitation is to dwell in an unbreachable, secure refuge—one impenetrable by drought, sicknesses, famine, or war. Psalm 91:7 reassures us: “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.”

Charge: If the Lord is your habitation, flying arrows and unseen dangers will remain nothing but rumors, for in His arms, you will find true security. Therefore, make the Lord your habitation now and forever.
