“And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us.”

Ephesians 5:2

To walk in love with all men is more than a feeling, it is a result of a daily choice that reflects the heart of God. To walk in love is to embody the compassion Christ demonstrated.

In the same way Christ has loved us, we ought to love others. To love others means showing kindness, forgiving those who hurt you, and speaking the truth in a way that builds others up rather than condemning them. To walk in love with all is to be humble, patient and graceful over judgment.

Walking in love with everyone is unconditional, and even to those who don’t love us back. This is the command given to us by Jesus in Matthew 22:39. But how can we do this? Only by relying on the Holy Spirit, who empowers us to love as Jesus did. It’s not always easy, but when we submit to the Holy Spirit, it all becomes easy and possible.

Charge: Let’s make love our guiding principle.
