“Ye shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.”
Deuteronomy 5:33
It will be hard to ever have anything to boast of personally or be overtaken by pride at any point when humility reigns in you. Have you heard the saying that “The true colour of a man is unknown until he’s given the opportunity to rule?” It is even harder to contemplate the saying in this part of the world where such experience prevails and is perpetually proven true. Unlike a believer whose everyday experience remains true and unfeigned.
Humility in the life of God’s children should remains unwavering, whether in times of abundance or lack, because Christ becomes our life and the foundation of our character at the point of salvation. This establishes that Christ’s reign comes with humility, notably indicated as a gift of the spirit in the book of Gal 5:22-23. Pride isn’t of God, and a great indication of belonging to the arm of faith is to be swallowed up in Christ.
To receive Christ is to let humility reign in your life, which is much easier to do, than a character that’s put up for a moment. The promise can be seen from our text today saying “…that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.” The promise is unto children marked by obedience; those who wouldn’t get swayed by comfort and pleasure, nor be caused to misbehave when they arrive in their promised land.
Charge: Be distinguished by humility.

Thank you.
Pride is one of the things that separated man from God.
In everything we do as Christians, we must shun pride.
