“My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.”
James 1:2-3
The Word of the Lord for us today encourages us to consider it all joy when we are tested by trials and storms of life knowing that those trials are working out greater benefits for us.
At times, our faith is tested through various trials and challenges that life throws our way. These trials can come in the form of difficult circumstances, painful losses. However, we are encouraged to view these trials through a different lens – one of joy.
When we face trials, it is an opportunity for our faith to be refined and strengthened. Just as gold is tested through fire, our faith also is tested and purified through trials. Rather than letting our trials discourage us, we can choose to respond with joy, knowing that they have the potential to produce perseverance and endurance within us just as James has taught us.
Storms of life will come no doubt, but as we navigate through them, we can comfort one another knowing that our faith is being refined and deepened. Trials of faith helps us to grow in resilience, Christian character, and faith, and it ultimately leads to a more steadfast walk with the Lord.
Charge: Let us embrace our trials with the joy of Christ.
