“It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23
We can confidently say that God’s faithfulness is never in doubt because the merciful work of the Lord is sure and can always be trusted. The Scripture that says: “While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” reveals the greatness found in God’s faithfulness toward us.
Sometimes as believers, we might get distracted from our relationship with God due to different circumstances. In view of this, we can learn from the three hebrews’ conviction of God’s faithfulness to them. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego understood the most powerful God and never doubted His faithfulness in the midst of a threatening fiery furnace.
We are aware that our God is able to do exceedingly above all we could ever ask or think. But when He doesn’t respond to our request, can we boldly declare “Great is thy faithfulness, Oh God”? Beloved, we are encouraged to always remind ourselves of God’s faithfulness in the face of surplus or scarcity, fear or faith, breakthrough or breakdown. May the Lord bless us with understanding. Amen
Charge: Even if God doesn’t grant your request, it wouldn’t make a difference of His faithfulness to us. God can always be trusted!
