“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Jeremiah 29:11

What is the expected end of a believer? To answer this, you can refer to scriptures like Proverbs 4:18, which says that “the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” This means your expected end is a path that grows brighter each day, until the day you meet Christ.

Another powerful scripture is Isaiah 49:23, which assures us that anyone who waits on God will never be put to shame. These are just a few examples of the beautiful future that God promises believers. Knowing this is essential, because it reminds us that our future is securely held in God’s hands.

This is why it is so important for believers to seek God’s face and trust in His Word. When we truly understand that we are dealing with a God who is intentional about leading us to the wonderful future He has prepared, we will never hesitate to follow His guidance. His thoughts for us are thoughts of peace, not of evil—and who is best to trust with our future than the One who created us, knows us deeply, and cares for us intentionally?

Charge: Trust God. His plans are always better than ours.
