“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”

Matthew 6:14-15

Forgiveness is something that is expected of a Christian, not because it is particularly easy, but we’ve been called to a higher standard of what we have received from Christ—His forgiveness and grace.

Receiving His forgiveness reminds us that we were once stubborn, guilty, and insistent on our sins, yet He forgave us regardless—even before we asked. Since we have received His forgiveness, it is our duty to forgive others, too. Furthermore, through His grace, we are empowered to forgive. Therefore, there is no excuse to hold grudges because His grace enables us to let go and forgive “seventy times seven.”

When God says His grace is sufficient for you, He means it. Everything you need to release pain and resentment is found in that grace. If you’re struggling to forgive, seek His help and walk in the grace He has already given

Charge: Let go of all the hurts and grudges. Remember, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

  1. Thank you.
Nobody can move easily while carrying the baggage of unforgiveness.
Forgive to glory God and free yourself.
