“And Saul saw and knew that the LORD was with David, and that Michal Saul’s daughter loved him.”
1 Samuel 18:28
It is awe-inspiring to see how God connects dots that seem completely unrelated, makes diamonds out of things that look useless, or even how He turns the plans of the devil around for our good.
Our devotional today requires that you study the preceding verses of our passage so that you are able to see for yourself how Saul had the mind to lay a trap for David. He presented the trap as a beautiful opportunity, but what He really wanted was for David to be gone. But, at the end of it all, even Saul had to admit that the Lord was with David, because all His plans to end David actually made David even more successful.
Our God is completely worthy of our total trust. There’s no need at all to fret when He’s at the helm of our lives. As a matter of fact, we should be as Jesus was in the boat even though there was a storm. There is nothing that should bother us once we understand that even though the situation looks really bad, our God is master at turning it around for our good.
Charge: Trust in the Lord and you will not be left stranded, because there’s an assurance that God will show up.
