“And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore.”

1 Samuel 1:10

Hannah knew that only God could fulfill the deepest desires of her heart; therefore, she placed her trust in Him to hear her request and act on her behalf. The Lord didn’t respond to her because of an eloquently composed petition, nor was it the length or style of her prayer that moved Him.

He answered Hannah because of her sincere and unwavering trust in Him. God saw beyond her words and recognized that her faith was genuine. She wasn’t praying for selfish reasons or to spite her rival. She didn’t allow her sorrow to overshadow her prayers or her response to the prophet’s inquiry. Instead, with humility and trust, her bitter prayers yielded the blessing of a better Samuel.

Charge: Don’t grow weary in praying to God; your miracle is closer than you think.
