“For God shall bring every work into judgement, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”
Ecclesiastes 12:14
As believers, we must allow scriptures like this to be deeply rooted in our hearts so that we remind ourselves that our sojourn on this earth is for a brief time. The Bible makes us understand that there is nothing done in secret that will not be revealed either good or evil. Now that we know this, our lives are supposed to be spent with reverential fear and trembling.
Therefore, we must always do a critical evaluation of ourselves to ensure that we have not deviated from God and nothing evil is found within us. On this basis, living with eternity in view is one of the few things that really matter in our brief stay on this earth. As you go about your activities today, take time at intervals to consider everything you do with your body and to others, whether it pleases God or not.
A constant reminder of today’s Bible verse is also very crucial to achieve a healthy and righteous lifestyle, knowing fully well that each one of us will receive what is due on that day. Now that we know every work will be tested by fire and every purpose of the heart will be made bare, let us begin to live every moment in view of that day.
