“And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one”
John 17:22
The glory of the Lord will only be fully revealed when there is oneness in the body of Christ. There was a reason why Jesus prayed earnestly to His Father that He would make us one. It is because the true beauty of a bride is in her oneness with her groom and her oneness with her members.
The beauty of the Father, Son, and Spirit is seen in their unity. Jesus Christ moved as He did on earth because he was united with the Father and the Holy Spirit. Indeed, there is great power in the oneness of believers.
Here are some reasons why we need to united:
● The glory of God cannot be expressed in our lives if we’re not united. God’s glory is revealed in unity. (John 17:22)
● There is an aspect of the goodness of God which He has given to the believers that cannot be seen if we’re not united. (Psalm 133:1-3)
● The power of God for the Church can only be manifested in full when we’re united. The power we’re seeing today in the church is just a small fraction of what can be if we truly come together as one. (Acts 2:1-4)
Charge: As a church, Christ want us to be united in peace and love so that the Spirit of God can move amongst us.
