“Many waters cannot quench love, Neither can the floods drown it: If a man would give all the substance of his house for love, It would utterly be condemned.”
Song of Solomon 8:7
It is the role of water to quench thirst. When a man is dehydrated, he’d never ask for anything but water because his present state demands water. If water can quench a thirsty man, how then can’t water quench love?
What is Love? Love is a personality. Love is a person. The power of water to quench thirst was given to water by Love. Who is Love? God is love. If God is Love, then water can’t quench Love. Love is so powerful that there is no force greater than Love. It was Love that made a man lay down His life for His friends.
Let’s examine a Flood: A flood is an overflow of water, and there is a possibility that when water overflows it can carry and even erode many things. However, Love is so powerful that even floods can’t drown it. There are no limitations to the power of Love.
Love is stronger than water. Love is stronger than death. Love gives life.
Water can quench thirst but water can’t quench Love. Love is greater than water; for God is Love
