“Now he which establisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.”

2 Corinthians 1:21-22

There is only One who keeps us. He has sealed us for Himself until the day of redemption, and He has given us the Holy Spirit as that seal. Dear Christian, your journey in being fully formed in Christ is not one you are asked to do by your power. God is very much interested in helping you. He is the ONLY reason that a man does not fall.

For everyone who has the testimony of “Welcome home; well done,” the One who kept them through all of life’s trials was God. It is God that gives grace. It is God that shows mercy. It is God that guides us in the way we must go. It is God that keeps us.

The question now is, “Do you allow yourself to be kept?” God has given the Holy Spirit as a seal, and the Holy Spirit is always willing to help us. However, it is quite impossible to help someone who doesn’t listen, obey, or wants to be helped. So, if you feel like the Holy Spirit isn’t at work in your life — keeping you — the question you should be asking yourself is whether you’re yielding to Him consistently.

Charge: The Shepherd will lead you, but if you don’t follow Him, you don’t get to see the promised destination.
