“When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.”
John 6:12
Jesus Christ practically teaches us how to be responsible and accountable for everything we have been assigned to coordinate as stewards in God’s vineyard. It is expected of us to be found faithful even in those things we might term “insignificant” or “left-overs”, because we will be held accountable for all by God.
In every sector we find ourselves as children of God, we should take account of the portions or assignments handed over to us by God. We have been called as “stewards” to care, control and manage all that God has committed to us. Moses, one of our fathers of faith, led the children of Israelites and did not lose anyone to Pharaoh – the king of Egypt.
A faithful steward does not carelessly handle matters pertaining to the kingdom of God. Dearly beloved, let’s endeavour to be more cautious in handling all that the Lord has ‘trusted’ unto us. He could have given those things to another person, but He is counting on us to deliver diligently. May we not lose our reward here on earth and also in heaven, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
