“And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him.”
1 Samuel 7:9
The Bible tells us that we are a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9). But there would be colossal damage if men who have been called into such a beautiful office are ignorant of it or have no interest in it. This is because the agenda of God in this realm requires the partnership of a man who can understand the demands and dynamics of priesthood.
God is raising a kingdom of priests who can stand in the gap and halt the plans of the enemy. He is seeking men and women who will call upon His name and offer sacrifices of prayer. Arising as a priest is one of the ways we partner with God so that His will can be manifested here on earth, and until we know this and avail ourselves, we automatically give the enemy free reign over our affairs. And God is not glorified in this manner.
Therefore, like Samuel, we are to make our stand by offering incense (prayer, holiness, consecration) as a priest unto God. May God grant us grace to present ourselves as true priests.
Charge: You are a priest, and God is counting on you to arise at the place of the altar.
