“The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall trust in him, and all the upright in heart shall glory.”
Psalm 64:10
While God desires His children to have the best of things, be in the best of situations, and live out the perfect testimony — glorifying to Him — He also desires that we do not trust in other avenues for these possibilities. He alone has made us justified and righteous in Christ Jesus.
We must consider the doings of God and acknowledge Him in every way accordingly because He alone is deserving of it. The scripture encourages us to look past whatever is working or not working yet in our lives. The nature and disposition of the righteous is to be glad in the Lord and to offer incense of praise to Him who has made us righteous in the first place.
It’s beautiful to behold this fine attitude and disposition from the Psalmist. As we would see in the preceding verses, despite the overwhelming threat of the evil ones and their plots, the Psalmist depicted the stand of a righteous man — unfazed by all these things. He show us the secret — the righteous only have God as their refuge.
Charge: Make a decision today to continuously maintain a posture of praise and glory to God.
