“Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?”

James 3:10-11

The Scripture is really clear when it comes to stating God’s thoughts on using the same vessel for two entirely different purposes.

It says you cannot serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24); it says you must be either cold or hot (Rev 3:15); It says a fountain cannot yield both salt water and fresh (James 3:12), and it says two cannot walk together except they be agreed – that is they cannot have contrary opinions or goals and walk peacefully together – they can achieve nothing this way. (Amos 3:3)

So, why do you insist that you can use your mouth for cursing and saying things that do not edify, and also use same mouth to praise God? Why do you think you can use your eyes to watch that which is evil and still use those eyes to see God? Why do you think you can use your ears to listen to that which is worldly, and still use those ears to hear the plans of God for your life?

You deceive yourself if you think it is possible. You can only have one master. Therefore, if you are still producing contrary fruits, it is time to choose the one you want to yield. Today, choose life in christ, and insist on a cleansing.
