“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
Joshua 1:8
Prosperity can be defined as the state of having good fortune. A prosperous man is one who has achieved success in life.
In our Bible passage for today, God gave Joshua some guidelines on how to lead the people. God made some promises to him as far as if he obeys the commandments and laws laid down by Moses (Josh 1:7).
As believers, we should know that the only true prosperity can be found in God. The Bible is our manual and guide and that is where true prosperity lies. It’s in fulfilling God’s ordained purpose for our lives and not in riches or the luxuries we can afford.
Joshua was able to make remarkable achievements in his lifetime because he followed this Manual as instructed by God. Adhering and putting to use the guidelines and instructions written in the Bible will direct our path into achieving our God-given purpose, goals and assignment.
Word for thought: God’s blessing of wealth is usually obtained by seeking God’s will.
