“Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.”
Romans 4:8
Thanks be to God, who understands the frailty of man and his weakness. We have been admonished from the scriptures, to confess our sins to God who is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1: 9. We have also been encouraged to come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need, Hebrews 4: 16.
God does not keep tabs on our sins or take down records of our shortcomings. He blots out our transgressions and does not condemn us once we forsake our sins. After repentance, comes forgiveness from God; and we can enjoy all of God’s righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
When God forgives your sins, be assured that He will not remind you of your misdeeds as confirmed in the scriptures: “Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things become new,” 2 Corinthians 5:17. We, too, should embrace the character of God to exhibit total. forgiveness
But we are the ones to be watchful so that the devil doesn’t trap us in our sinful pasts. To evade this, we need the help of the Holy Spirit.
