“Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed, I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”

Genesis 18:14

With a mix of doubt and hopeful expectation, the couple heard the Lord’s question, sensing their faith choked by past painful experiences.

Abraham and Sarah, were 75 and 65 years old when God told them that they would have a child. They waited for 25 years before the wonder-working God blessed them with Isaac, at the right time, bringing immense joy and laughter.

Similar stories of Hannah and Elizabeth waiting to conceive Samuel and John the Baptist respectively reveal the precision of God’s timing. The unchanging God posed the same question to Jeremiah when he felt fearful and unworthy, asking, ‘Is anything too hard for me?’ Today, that question is posed to you. What challenges and fears weigh upon you? One amazing thing about those who waited on God is that they come out stronger and refreshed for a better journey ahead.

Do you feel God has forgotten you? Are you looking to Him for the fruit of the womb or the right spouse? Today, you must rise above fear and doubt. Don’t hastily settle for an alternative plan. Your situation isn’t forgotten; God is actively at work. Trust in His perfect timing.

Thought for the day: Exercise patience in waiting on Him, for God is never late.

Stay blessed.
