“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”
Ephesians 3:20
In Matthew 7:7, the Bible says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” And our opening scripture also says God is set to do exceedingly, abundantly, and above all that we can ask or think.
This is a reminder that we should expect the best things from God. It is a reminder that only God gives good and perfect gifts that add no sorrow. It also reminds us that God desires to bless and see us prosper.
That knowledge should do something to our expectations. It should set us up for a mindset that sees everything as possible as long as it aligns with God’s will par time. It should increase our asking and boldness when we come before our Father.
Today, go about your day with an expectant heart. Believe that if you have asked, He will do it. Keep seeking Him, and because He is a rewarder of them that seek Him, expect to find Him.
Prayer
Dear Father, thank you for always being ready to hear me when I pray. Enlarge my heart so I may understand how to ask of you and not shy away. Enlarge our expectations and our trust in You. In all this, let your name be glorified in the name of Jesus. Amen.
