“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times, some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.” 1
Timothy 4:1
Lucidly, the last days are days preceding the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and undoubtedly, we’re in the last days.
“You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days, there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving, slander others, and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!” 2 Tim. 3:1-5.
When you look at the world’s situation today, what do you find? Isn’t it a literal fulfilment of those very words in the scripture? Men are demanding, selfish, covetous, and even boastful. But the most painful is that most of those guilty of these sins don’t see themselves as such; some even profess Christianity. Oh, may God touch the heart of men today!
“And because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end, he shall be saved.” Matt. 24:12-13. Departure from the faith is a principal sign of the last days, and there are many effects of departing from the faith. Today, those things that were once forbidden are now the most accepted, and if you don’t join them to do the abominable, you are more like an outcast. Homosexualism, moral decadence, murder, cultism, arm robbery, ritualism, covetousness, love of the world, indecent dressing, corruption, wickedness, bad governance, unbelief, evil-doing, and other unrighteous things are now prevalent.
Unbelief is a ubiquitous sin; it is everywhere. Evil is also pervasive. What more shall I say of seducing spirits, juvenile delinquency and the like? All these and many more are signs that Jesus Christ will soon appear in mid-air to rapture His own. And when this happens, will you be prepared? Will you be ready for the Marriage Supper of The Lamb? Will you be prepared to reign with Jesus in the azure above? To join in the Millennial reign—1000 years with Jesus? Oh, how wonderful and spectacular will that be?
The only way we can escape the peril (difficulty) of the last days is to identify ourselves with Christ. Get genuinely saved. Pray to God, acknowledge our sins, repent, confess and forsake all of them, and then believe in the shed blood of Jesus to cleanse us from all sins. Then, henceforth, live each day like it’s the last—live a rapturable life daily. This is the only way. Many people know this, but only a few are ready to surrender. Are you part of the many or the few? Choose wisely. “After man’s wisdom has utterly hit the dust, God’s wisdom will soar through eternity.” Remember this, a life without Christ is a life full of crisis. So, again, I say, choose wisely!

Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank you for this powerful teaching. Forgive me for not consecrating my life my you. Forgive me for living a Christless life. Please help me to live for you daily. Please help me forsake the things of this world and walk with you no matter how difficult times may be. I want to reign with you, Father. I don’t want the pleasures of this world to lead me into perdition. Help me to guard my heart diligently, Oh Lord. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
